This 17,000 square-foot installation is not just an artistic venture but also a mission-driven experience designed to foster environmental awareness and encourage sustainable living. It represents the first permanent location for Arcadia Earth after successful stints in New York, Las Vegas, and Saudi Arabia.
The exhibit offers a multi-sensory journey through ten distinct rooms, each employing interactive technologies like projection mapping, augmented reality, and virtual reality. These rooms are creatively designed to immerse visitors in various natural environments, starting from an underwater coral reef diorama to an LED screen tunnel showcasing Canada’s diverse wildlife.

One of the striking features is a throne made from over 3,000 pounds of discarded keyboards and circuit boards, conceptualized by Canadian multimedia artist Benjamin Von Wong. His creation highlights the issue of electronic waste in a visually compelling manner.

Per the news release, each room in the exhibit is an intersection of art, technology, and environmental education. For instance, a collaboration with WWF-Canada has resulted in a projection mapping room that brings to light the organization’s 10-year plan, Regenerate Canada, aimed at habitat expansion, carbon reduction, and reversing wildlife loss.
This partnership aligns with the exhibit’s goal to illustrate the detrimental impact of human activities on biodiversity and climate change, while also offering solutions and inspiring visitors to adopt more sustainable practices.

Arcadia Earth
Beyond the immersive experience, Arcadia Earth Toronto extends its environmental commitment through its Marketplace. This section of the exhibit features a range of sustainable products from vendors like The Heritage Bee Company and Birch Babe, promoting conscious consumerism. This aligns with the exhibit’s broader mission to not only educate but also provide tangible ways for individuals to reduce their environmental footprint.
The ticket pricing for Arcadia Earth Toronto ranges from $24 to $39, with a special initiative where $2 from every ticket sold is donated to WWF-Canada.
