Reservations for BC Parks’ 2025 spring camping season open this week.
BC Parks has announced the opening of camping reservations for several campgrounds as part of preparations for the 2025 spring season.
Visitors can book campsites up to four months in advance, with reservations for the May long weekend beginning this week at many locations.
BC Parks says 60 new campsites across three BC Parks have been added to the reservation system this year:
- Fintry Park near Kelowna: 30 new campsites with power hookups, supported by $1.5 million in upgrades including flush toilets, dishwashing stations, potable water taps, and recycling facilities.
- Rolley Lake Park near Mission: 17 new walk-in sites, part of a $2 million development with a communal shelter, bike racks, bear-proof storage, and picnic tables.
- China Beach Campground in Juan de Fuca Park near Victoria: 13 new campsites (8 park-beside and 5 walk-in), with accessible showers and flush toilets set to open in May 2025. 33 new sites were added in 2024 as part of a $2.7 million upgrade.
Ongoing Repairs and Delays
- Golden Ears Park near Maple Ridge: Storm damage has delayed the opening of reservations. Repairs to the Golden Ears Parkway, which provides access to three campgrounds, are underway. Updates will be provided on the BC Parks website.
- Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Park: Repairs continue on sections of the 23-kilometre trail, which suffered significant damage from extreme weather in 2021 and September 2024. Reservation updates will be announced later.
Reservation Opening Dates
Reservations for new campsites at Fintry and Rolley Lake open on January 15, 2025, for May 15 arrivals, while booking for new sites at China Beach Campground will be announced later in 2025.
BC Parks allows camping reservations up to four months in advance, starting at 7 a.m. Pacific Time daily. For example, if planning to arrive on July 25 for a four-night stay, the entire reservation can be made on March 25.
Parks without internet connectivity require reservations to be completed by 8 p.m. two days prior to arrival. For instance, a July 25 arrival must be booked by July 23. Parks with internet access, however, accept reservations up until the arrival date.
A restricted booking policy applies for reservations made on the first day of the four-month window. These bookings cannot be modified, including changes to arrival and departure dates or the length of stay. For instance, if a reservation is made on March 1 for a July 1 arrival, the dates cannot be adjusted after booking.
