Best Canadian Whisky of 2017 – Seventh Annual Canadian Whisky Awards

Seventh annual Canadian Whisky Awards selected Masterson’s 10 Year Old Rye Batch PSA3 to be the Canadian Whisky of the Year.

 

The Canadian Whisky Awards recognize the very best Canadian whiskies and encourage distillers to maintain the highest standards for making whisky. The whisky must be distilled and matured in Canada to qualify for the award.

The winners are selected through a blind taste test by an independent panel of whisky writers, bloggers, and journalists.

Connoisseur Whisky of the Year: Export- Masterson’s 10 year old Batch PSA3

Connoisseur Whisky of the Year Multiple Markets: Lot No. 40

Stalk & Barrel Rye Cask Strength was awarded Connoisseur Whisky of the Year Best New Whisky. Twelve Barrels from Ottawa took home top spot as the Domestic Value Whisky of the Year.

      I’ve heard so much about the Canadian whisky awards, but I don’t know why such distinctions are so famous. What’s so special about such awards?
