Birdly, the newest addition, is the first VR exhibit at Spark and the inaugural experience will transport you to the Jurassic period. Experience the sights and sounds of being alive at the same time as these magnificent creatures as you soar into the sky and admire these prehistoric animals from above.
You will be able to move your arms to fly, as you navigate your way across vast mountains, valleys and shimmering bodies of water, observing them in their natural habitat. Meet the Stegosaurus and Brontosaurus and you have will also have the unique opportunity of being transformed into a Pterosaur in the Jurassic period.
This prehistoric adventure is about 3-5 minutes long and you can take as many rides as you want. On the flight cam in the departure lounge, you can watch exactly what people are seeing as they fly among and above these majestic dinosaurs.
Birdly
What: Safely soar to brave new heights with Birdly, the science centre’s first full-body virtual reality (VR) experience. The inaugural experience is Jurassic Flight, a VR adventure that surprises flyers with unique visual, aural and haptic sensations, transforming them into a late Jurassic pterosaur.
When: Permanent Exhibit. Open during TELUS Spark Science Centre Hours.
Advance reservations are not needed and you can go on this exciting adventure on a walk-up basis. Flight times can be reserved up to 2 hours in advance through a simple sign up procedure.
How Much:
Regular Admission.
Tickets cost $26 for adults (18-64) and $24 for seniors (65+). Tickets for children (3-17) cost $19 and if you are a student and have a student id, you can buy tickets for $22. Kids below 2 years are free. Family bundles are also available for 5 or 6 tickets at $90 and these include maximum 2 adults.
