This edition also sees the festival move its main activities to The Confluence (Fort Calgary) and close to the Calgary Folk Festival’s summer site at Prince’s Island Park.
The festival begins on February 5 with a launch event at Festival Hall and continues on February 6 and 7 at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland.
This year’s lineup features headlining performances by Grammy-winning blues artist Cedric Burnside, indie folk act Fruit Bats (solo), Cape Breton singer Goldie Boutilier, Toronto-based Jeremie Albino, Canadian songwriter Joel Plaskett, Americana duo The War and Treaty, and folk artist Field Guide.
Programming includes indoor and outdoor performances across multiple stages, including a large heated tent, as well as community-oriented activities such as food trucks, a skating rink, firepits, and children’s programming.
Tickets are now on sale for the event that remains family-friendly and will maintain its focus on both established and emerging artists.
