Celebrate Kyle Lowry at a Free Block Party in Toronto: Register for Free Tickets

Kyle Lowry is retiring as a Toronto Raptor, and if you want to celebrate with other fans, Maple Leaf Square is where you’ll want to be on Saturday, Sept. 19.

“Kyle’s Block Party” will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the space better known to Raptors fans as Jurassic Park. The free daytime event is part of a wider weekend celebrating Lowry’s 20-season NBA career and his nine years in Toronto.

“This is home, and Toronto will always be home,” Lowry said. “Together we built something special here, and together we became champions.”

What to expect at Kyle’s Block Party:

The event is built around the fans who followed Lowry through some of the biggest moments in Raptors history, including the team’s 2019 NBA Championship.

You can expect food and beverage stations, exclusive merchandise pop-ups, giveaways, apparel customization and a photobooth. A DJ will keep things moving, while special guest appearances are also planned.

Highlights and fan activations will look back at Lowry’s Raptors career, which included six All-Star selections and franchise records in assists, steals and three-pointers made.

How to get free passes:

You will not need to buy a ticket, but admission requires a free pass.

Fans can enter for a chance to receive passes through Fan Access on the Raptors App starting Friday, Sept. 4 at noon.

Registration closes Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon, with selected fans notified later that day.

A full weekend of Lowry celebrations:

The celebrations actually begin before Kyle’s Block Party.

On Friday, Sept. 18, the Raptors and MLSE Foundation will host The KLow Invitational, a charity golf tournament featuring Lowry’s friends, former teammates, partners and guests. Proceeds will support a youth initiative chosen by Kyle and Ayahna Lowry to help create opportunities for young people.

Then comes Kyle’s Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 19, bringing fans downtown for highlights, activations, merchandise and special appearances.

The weekend closes Saturday night with A Night For Seven, a gala featuring entertainment, storytelling and fundraising for MLSE Foundation while celebrating Lowry’s impact on Toronto.

More Lowry celebrations ahead:

The Block Party is only part of the sendoff. Raptors fans will get three more chances to celebrate Lowry during a series of GROAT Nights at Scotiabank Arena in January.

The first comes Jan. 7 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, followed by Jan. 8 against the Utah Jazz. Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Fans attending Jan. 7 will receive a collectible T-shirt, while the Jan. 8 giveaway is a limited-edition Kyle Lowry bobblehead. Special programming and other surprises are also planned.

Then comes the big one.

On Jan. 10, Lowry will be joined by his family, former teammates and the Raptors organization as his No. 7 jersey is raised to the rafters at Scotiabank Arena.

One fan will also get the chance to attend all three GROAT Nights with a guest. Lowry and the Raptors are giving away a pair of tickets to each game, with contest details expected through the team’s social media channels and website.
