Red River Ex
Running from Friday, December 1, 2023, to Saturday, January 6, 2024, this event transforms Exhibition Park into a mesmerizing spectacle of lights, making it the longest drive-thru light show in the province.
Be mesmerised by the impressive display of over one million lights that will adorn Red River Exhibition Park. As you drive along the 2.5 km route, you’ll encounter more than 30 new light displays and several surprises, all while staying cozy in your vehicle. For those seeking outdoor experiences, there are opportunities for skating on the frozen pond, outdoor photo ops, and various food stands serving warm beverages and delectable treats.
To enhance your experience, tune your vehicle’s radio to 101.1 FM to enjoy custom holiday programming that synchronizes perfectly with the dazzling views. Wednesdays offer an extra touch of magic as the first 100 cars receive free 3D glasses to enhance their light display experience.
Additionally, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, visitors can hop aboard a classic hayride through Exhibition Park, courtesy of KB Clydesdales, to truly immerse themselves in the holiday spirit.

Children can participate in the festive tradition of sending letters to Santa by using the special “Direct to the North Pole” mailbox, with Santa even sending replies.
Things to Do in Winnipeg This Weekend
For those with an appetite, Sweet & Salty Concessions will be on hand, offering an array of treats including mini donuts, deep-fried cheese curds, poutine, and french fries.
The Winter Wonderland will run from Friday, December 1st to Saturday, January 6th, 2024 and will be open nightly (except on Christmas Day) from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Winter Wonderland will open its gates from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm every night, except on December 25th. Located at Exhibition Park’s West Gate, 3977 Portage Ave., it’s easily accessible by turning north off Portage Avenue onto Festival Drive.
