The longest charcuterie board ever assembled is coming to Canada’s longest pier, thanks to Sheila’s Catering Co. in South Surrey.
On September 2, 2023, the White Rock Pier will transform into a 500-foot cheese, cracker, fruit, and cured meat feast, aiming for a world record.
The idea, according to Wes Levesque, the Director of Operations, has been fermenting since before the pandemic, with the beautiful pier and ocean providing a captivating backdrop for this delectable spectacle.

An official Guinness representative will be on hand to make things official, and guests will even receive certificates to prove they were part of this historic culinary event.
Don’t fret about freshness – the board will be assembled from 250 two-foot sections, each prepared and wrapped offsite. The board will be unveiled gradually during the event, ensuring all guests get a fresh taste. And don’t worry, they’ve got plans for any curious seagulls!
Ticket holders will enjoy a personal charcuterie board to keep, live entertainment, and, for the VIP and Tier 1 ticket holders, a front-row seat to the official Guinness adjudication.
But it’s not all about gouda and salami. The event aims to raise at least $50,000 for Sources Food Banks and Friends of the Pier, a charity devoted to renovating the historic pier. The boards used for the record attempt will be auctioned off, contributing to the cause.
So, whether you’re a cured meat connoisseur, a philanthropist, or just someone who appreciates a good spectacle, come down to White Rock Pier on September 2, 2023.

Trip Planning — Charcuterie on the Pier
What: Charcuterie on the Pier is a fundraising event for the community of Whiterock and will feature an attempt by Sheila’s Catering Co. to smash the World Record for the Longest Charcuterie Board.
The Sheila’s Catering Team will build a 500 foot long charcuterie board on the White Rock Pier that will be officially judged by Guinness World Record representatives and then enjoyed by 1,200 guests.
