Cineplex is opening its fifth Playdium location on June 17 at Vaughan Mills Mall, adding a large indoor entertainment space just north of Toronto.
The new Playdium Vaughan covers more than 24,000 square feet and sits near Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan, giving visitors another activity option in the mall area. According to Cineplex, the Vaughan site has more attractions under one roof than any other Playdium location in Canada.
The venue is designed for families, teens and groups, with a mix of arcade games, physical attractions, food and event rooms. Guests can play more than 85 arcade and amusement games, including Grand Piano Keys, Mario Kart Arcade GP and Toybox Cranes.
There are also four premium attractions. These include the GTA’s first Gel Blaster arena, AR Duck Pin Bowling, wall climbing, and a multi-level ropes course with a zip line. Players can collect credits on a game band and redeem prizes at the Swag Shop.
Food will be available through Bites, with options such as burgers, pizza, shareables and sweet treats. The location also includes an elevated lounge area where guests can sit down during their visit.
For parties and group bookings, Playdium Vaughan has eight private rooms for birthdays, team outings, corporate events and other celebrations.
Cineplex says the opening has created more than 100 local jobs in Vaughan.
