Events Description

To celebrate Giving Tuesday WP Puppet Theatre is hosting a special Puppet Pop-UP. All ticket purchases and donations will receive a charitable receipt.

Join us to make a sock puppet—it won’t be ordinary with platypode inspiration!

The platypus is a duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed, egg-laying aquatic creature native to Australia. This unlikely animal’s different parts remind us of how a strong community is made up of many diverse elements. We’re celebrating Giving Tuesday and the upcoming season of goodwill and joy—times to reach out to our neighbours and champion our differences—with a Puppet Pop-Up about Platypi!

Riff a platypus poem—“Whatever is a Platypus? A funny sight to see!”, (Just how many ‘p’s can you use?). Play a platypus performance for your pals! Let’s enjoy a moment of Australian summer at the same time—eucalyptus, didgeridoos, billabongs and more!

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will fund bursaries for deserving individuals in our community to attend our 2020 Puppet Power Conference. These individuals might be students, seniors, or marginalized citizens and would love to attend but are unable to due to financial barriers. This Giving Tuesday you can help give a motivated person the opportunity to learn, network and experience all the benefits that Puppet Power provides.
