Events Description
Get ready for an evening of off-kilter pop, art-rock adventures, synth-fuelled grooves, and songs that refuse to sit still.
Science is Fiction has been described as “Elvis Costello on steroids” and “a bit Parquet Courts, a bit parent rock.” Sharp hooks, clever songwriting, and enough energy to keep things delightfully unpredictable.
Jon Cohen Experimental is a Montreal one-man loop orchestra, cult-pop architect, and collector of strange musical ideas. Armed with guitars, synths, pedals, and a healthy sense of curiosity, he builds songs brick by brick into swirling indie-dance explosions. Think E.L.O. colliding with the ’90s in a basement full of blinking machines. Equal parts melodic, gritty, danceable, and weird.
Opening the night is Byron Fredrick (Suncatjah), Calgary musician, producer, keyboard wizard, and sonic explorer. Drawing from decades spent roaming through reggae, soca, rock, funk, and electronic music, his sets blur genres and create grooves that are impossible to ignore.
Three acts. Lots of sounds. One memorable Thursday night.
