Pure Speculation Festival

The Pure Speculation Festival is Edmonton’s Family Friendly Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival, featuring panels, demos, games, costumes, face-painting, and more!

We’ll be showcasing some of Edmonton’s finest and nerdiest artists, crafters, and vendors in our Main Hall.

Featuring Guests of Honour Rhonda Parrish (author and publisher), Mike Perschon (author), and S.G. Wong (author), along with a host of writers and artists from Edmonton’s science fiction and fantasy community.

Organized by nerds for nerds, the Pure Speculation Festival is dedicated to creating an inviting and Inclusive community event, open to everyone who loves science fiction and fantasy popular culture.

The festival plays host to some of Edmonton’s nerdiest vendors, artists, and publishers such as Variant Edition Comics + Culture , On Spec Magazine, and Tyche Publish-ing.rs, The festival offers a variety of panels and demos, on everything from Witches in Fiction to ghost stories, with stops at Nerdy Belly Dancing or the Third Annual Ulti-mate SF Quiz in between.

Since 2005, Pure Spec has entertained festival-goers with presentations and discussions on topics relevant to sci-fi culture, media and fandom.
