Events Description

It has been a long, cold winter – can that affect our mental state?

Environmental factors can play a role in triggering depression and mental illness. So can genetics and lifestyle. Not understanding the hows and whys can lead to a stigma around mental illness.

Science on Tap: The Science of Depression will feature a panel of local experts including researchers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and individuals with lived experience to answer your questions. We will delve into the risk factors for depression and some of the treatment options – from cognitive behavioral therapy to novel drug treatments.
