The EAC kicks off the new year with Winter City Weekends at Churchill Square! With programming every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, City Hall is the place to be to show off your moves on the ice and groove to some of Edmonton’s best musicians and DJs.
Swing n’ Skate
Swing‘n Skate will be back at City Hall on Sundays from 1:00 – 4:00 pm throughout January and February. Show off your best moves to some swing, big band, soca, salsa and more inside Edmonton City Hall. If you’d rather be outdoors, the music will be broadcast directly outside for ice skaters at City Hall Plaza.
Ice Grooves
Bring your cool moves to City Hall Plaza Ice Grooves! Skate and dance along to live DJs every Friday and Saturday night from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Free skate rentals are available on a first come, first served basis. The plaza rink will be open during favourable weather conditions.

- Drop-in lessons are offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 — 1:30 pm.
Free Skate Rentals
Ready to get on the ice? The Edmonton Arts Council will be at the City Hall Plaza offering free skate rentals all week long:
- Monday — Friday, 5 — 9 pm
- Saturday, 12 — 9 pm
- Sunday, 12 — 5 pm
