Family Fun Day: The Great Lakes | Sunday, May 17, 2026
Join us in the Fischer Gallery for fun, hands-on art-making. Bring underwater worlds to life using crayon resist, water based “algae” paint, and salt to create layered aquatic scenes. Experiment with colour and texture to capture the movement and mystery of the Great Lakes inspired by our current exhibition The Great Lakes.
Please note, parents and guardians are required to stay with their kids at all times.
Family Fun Day: Métis Finger Weaving & Beading | Sunday, June 21, 2026
Celebrate Métis culture through creativity and connection at this special Family Fun Day workshop facilitated by the Métis Nation of Ontario Summer Youth Program. Families will explore the traditions and significance of Métis finger weaving and beading through guided, hands-on activities designed for all ages. Create together while learning about Métis history, storytelling, and artistic practices.

Join us in the Fischer Gallery for fun, hands-on art-making. Design a new advertisement by combining black-and-white vintage ads with colourful modern imagery to promote something in Hamilton today. Use collage and text to explore how the past and present can come together through design and storytelling.
