Events Description

Step off the path and into the story of the forest.

Join Region of Waterloo Forester Andrew Puchalski for an immersive guided walk through the beautiful woodlands surrounding Doon Heritage Village, located at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum.

Discover how our forests are constantly changing and renewing — from towering old-growth stands to thoughtfully managed reforestation areas — and uncover the hidden systems that keep them thriving.

This isn’t just a walk — it’s a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and see the landscape through the eyes of a forester. Curious about tree health? Wildlife habitats? Forest management? Ask away. This is your opportunity to explore, learn, and connect.

Andrew and museum staff will welcome you and get you checked in.
The guided walk will last approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Whether you’re a lifelong nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful and meaningful morning outdoors, this walk offers something special.

Presenter: Andrew Puchalski
