For the first time ever, Niagara Parks will open its renowned Whirlpool Golf Course during the winter months for a new seasonal activation that puts a contemporary twist on classic Canadian winter activities. Snowshoe or hike your way through the scenic Niagara River Parkway, indulge in specially crafted comfort foods or simply take in the beauty of some of Canada’s most desired natural sights with our exclusive MoonGlow or Sparkling Sundays events.

Niagara Parks’ Great Canadian Winter Lodge runs on weekends from December 28, 2019 until March 29, 2020, weather permitting.

Things to Do at Great Canadian Winter Lodge by Niagara Parks:

Snowshoeing
Take a breath of fresh winter air and admire the beauty of the season snowshoeing along one of Niagara Parks’ three winter trails at Whirlpool Golf Course. With seamless elevation changes and breathtaking winter scenes throughout, our snowshoeing trails offer an opportunity to revel in a mindful moment with nature at your own pace.

Culinary Comforts
Warm up after a day on the trails inside the cozy lodge atmosphere of the Whirlpool Restaurant. Enjoy classic Canadian comfort foods and hot beverages (including crockpot favourites!) as well as a selection of local craft beer, cider and VQA wine, while you take in the serene winter landscape around you.

Sparkling Sundays
Rise and shine with a relaxing yoga session followed by brunch as part of Sparkling Sundays. Revitalize your mind as you do yoga overlooking the glistening winter landscape of the Niagara Glen, and nourish your body with brunch at Queenston Heights Restaurant’s award-winning Sunday Brunch buffet. Top it all off with some refreshing mimosas from our new mimosa bar!

MoonGlow
Create your own biodegradable lantern and watch it light up the night sky with MoonGlow. This evening workshop under the shimmering winter stars features an accessible yoga program, lantern building workshop, seasonal craft cocktails and ambient sounds by a guest DJ.
