Events Description
Making a splash on the Ottawa river this summer is the Boreal River Adventures downtown kayarafting program. Hop into an inflatable kayak and try your hand at paddling the world-famous Ottawa river waves, right in view of parliament!
During the 4.5 hour introductory workshop you’ll learn how to read the river, paddle and swim rapids—and learn safety concepts. With a maximum group of 10 people and 2 guides per trip, you’re sure to get loads of time learning and getting personalized feedback.
Boreal River’s strength has always been its staff, and this program is no different. You’ll spend the day with some of Canada’s top paddlers, and they’ll share all their best tips to get you started on whitewater. Their goal? For you to have fun, to connect and learn about the river, and to make whitewater more approachable and accessible to all.
In your own kayaraft, you’ll be in control and learning in a safe environment. Parc Moussette, the departure point, is along the green route cycling path in Gatineau, and accessible by public transit.
