Events Description
Each year, select Aesop stores are reimagined as immersive literary spaces, where products are replaced with a curated selection of books by queer authors, while Aesop’s signature aromatic elements enrich the reading experience.
Across the globe, participating locations will showcase titles from LGBTQIA+ writers, which visitors are invited to enjoy and take home as a gift. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has distributed over 115,000 books.
Named after a master storyteller, Aesop has long been informed and inspired by literature. The Queer Library offers a platform for underrepresented and historically silenced voices, affirming the power of the written word to broaden perspectives, embolden individuals, and foster community.
This year’s edition explores the notion of the human body as a bridge between our private interior worlds and what we share with others. Writing that centres on the queer body challenges assumptions, offers visibility to stories and experiences often obscured, and acts as a form of joyful resistance.
As in previous years, each visitor will be invited to select a complimentary book to take home (while quantities last, no purchase necessary).
