FIRST ACT PROGRAM – ANIMATION
THE SPIRIT SEAM 15min., USA, Animation
Directed by Ashley Gerst
The Spirit Seam is a short animated film about a little girl, Pollywog, and her Pap-Paw. Located in an Appalachain coal-mining town in the 1950s, the film takes the audience through the daily life of both characters.

DON’T THINK OF A PINK ELEPHANT, 7min., UK, Animation

We’ve all had thoughts of what might happen should we jump from a high place, drop the baby, or stab someone with a fork. Usually we can dismiss them without a care – but what if we couldn’t?

THE MOST MAGNIFICENT THING, 22min., Canada, Animation

The Most Magnificent Thing is an inspirational story about a little girl with a creative spirit, determined to make great things. Joined by her best friend, her pet dog, the two happily explore the world, doing absolutely everything together. This is a poetic animation film on the jealousy of seeing someone succeed in a path you once considered.

It all begins while the 11 years old main character is lying down alone with his childish and emotional imagination on the floor waiting for an unrecognized punishment from his father while locking him up in a room.

SAND IN THE SKY, 4min., USA, Drama

Traveling with a baby is an interesting thing. They add all sorts of challenges to any trip you do. Long flights, strollers, nap schedules, and car seats all seem to pile up and complicate what is supposed to be a relaxing vacation. Sometimes, you may even find yourself wondering…is all this effort worth it for a baby who won’t even remember the trip? All these experiences and memories will eventually disappear, like a fading dream. So is it worth it?
