Learn samba reggae on a real drum with TDot Batu, a Toronto samba reggae band led by Pato Irie, who is from Salvador, Bahia, where the rhythm was born.
This is a five-class course on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4 PM: November 7, 14, 21 and 28, and December 12 (no class on December 5). In each class you learn your own part and the breaks, and by the end the whole room plays the groove together as one band. All drums and sticks are provided and no experience is needed. New to samba reggae, or played a little? You are welcome. All ages are welcome; under 18s need a parent or guardian who stays for the class. – Geary Avenue Rehearsal Studios, 330 Geary Ave (Studio 10), Toronto.
