Events Description

In August 2016, a tiny sea otter pup was discovered washed up on Rialto Beach in Washington State. Sick and stranded from his mom, the little otter was brought to the Seattle Aquarium where he was successfully rehabilitated.

Rialto completed his recovery at the Vancouver Aquarium where the ‘world’s cutest sea otter’ continues to win hearts.

Learn about Rialto’s rescue – and how you can help to save endangered sea otters – at Vancouver launch of Rescuing Rialto. Rescuing Rialto is written by Lynda Mapes and photographed by Alan Berner; the reporter and photographer duo from the Seattle Times who chronicled Rialto’s story as it happened. The Rialto Paw-ty will feature a book reading and signing with Mapes and Berner, a visit from Ollie the Sea Otter mascot and a special sea otter program.
