Events Description
River Basin Days is a series of outdoor public programs geared towards families. Join us at rotating locations around the Fraser River Basin as we explore this incredible watershed! Our staff will guide you through 1-hour of activities, experiments, and art projects as we learn about the biodiversity of this great river.
In this month’s River Basin Day we’re going to gather inspiration from nature itself to write our own nature poetry! No experience necessary; our educators will guide you through some simple exercises that are sure to help you craft a poem you’ll be proud of. During the workshop, we’ll learn about different forms of poetry, ways to use descriptive language, and consider the many perspectives of poetry.
This workshop will require basic literacy skills (reading and writing). For this reason, the workshop is aimed at older children.
Terra Nova Rural Park is right on the coast and can receive some chill winds. So make sure you are dressed for the weather!
This event is free with paid admission to the Centre. Pay online when you register, and receive your physical admission tickets at the event. Use these anytime to visit the Centre!
