Events Description
At this year’s event you can visit the fish hatchery, see salmon fry, view a salmon dissection and learn about what salmon species are returning this year.
Enjoy a fun day outdoors with interactive exhibits, hands-on learning and the chance to see salmon up close. Activities include:
Nylon Zoo puppet show, storytelling and costume parade
Salmon Talks with Fisheries and Oceans Canada
An introduction to the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program, including a special guest ambassador
Artist J Peachy and his Art Cart Woodcrafting activity
Musical performances by the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra and Steven Marriott throughout the day
On-site food and drink offerings by Mükasi Coffee and Soul Bite Food
This free family event takes place rain or shine! The Hoy Creek Hatchery is located on Hoy Creek Trail Linear Park, west of the City Centre Aquatic Complex at the corner of Pinetree and Guildford Way, just a short 10 minute walk from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station.

Free parking is available on Sundays in the aboveground City staff lot by Coquitlam City Hall, accessible from Burlington Drive. This lot is a short walk to the trail entrance across Guildford Way. Additional parking is available in Town Centre Park.
