Events Description
The Vancouver International Music Festival–Competition 2026 marks a significant milestone:
the fourth edition of the Vancouver International Music Competition, returning at the culmination of its three-year artistic cycle.
Founded to celebrate artistic excellence, cultural exchange, and the next generation of musical voices, the Competition brings together young artists from around the world to perform on an international stage in the heart of Vancouver. Through rigorous adjudication, inspiring performances, and a shared commitment to musical integrity, VIMC has become a recognized platform for emerging talent across piano, strings, woodwinds, and voice.
The festival features the International Competition Final Round on October 9 at Pyatt Hall and Salon, masterclasses with distinguished musicians and educators on October 10, and a spectacular Gala Concert & Awards Ceremony on Sunday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the historic Orpheum Theatre.
