The Creepy Doll Museum, known for its eerie collection of haunted and unsettling dolls, is set to make its debut in Ottawa after five years of sold-out exhibitions in Peterborough, Toronto, and Prince Edward County.

This chilling trove will materialize at Ottawa’s House of Common Studio this October 18th and 19th, beckoning those brave enough to explore their uncanny tales.
Founded in 2019 in Peterborough by Kathryn Bahun and Ben Hatcher, the museum sprang from a quirky observation: the haunting presence of dolls left behind at garage sales. What began with a modest gathering of forty dolls has since swelled to a macabre assembly sourced from corners far and wide.
The collection, noted for its unique blend of horror and humour, offers a creepy tableau featuring dolls sourced from across Canada, each accompanied by a biography penned by various Ontario authors.

These tales range from the tragic to the spine-tingling, with occasional whimsical twists that remind visitors these dolls are not so different from us—they breathe in the sleep of the living, brush their mother’s hair before bedtime, and even nibble on discarded nail clippings to foster a sinister connection with their human counterparts.
This year’s exhibition in Ottawa marks the museum’s sixth year, promising an experience that will blend historical intrigue with the thrill of the supernatural during the Halloween season.
For the curious and the brave, the museum doors creak at House of Common Studio on Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., with admission priced at $10.
