With Halloween on a Sunday this year, you and your family can partake in festivities all weekend long before hitting the sidewalks and stocking up on treats.
On Saturday, October 30th, the town of Barrhead is set to host their annual Halloween Pumpkin Drive-Thru.
Depending on where you live in Edmonton, a daytrip to Barrhead is only a 1-to-1.5-hour drive one way, and this Pumpkin Drive-Thru might be what you need to fill your Saturday evening as a family.
It is also free to attend (with a Food Bank donation)! If you leave early enough, there are a lot of natural areas to explore along your drive between Parkland County and Barrhead: Lac St. Anne, Lac la Nonne, and the Pembina River.
The drive-thru is unlike any other Halloween event in Alberta as it is a true community effort. The drive takes you through lanes decorated with lit-up jack-o-lanterns- all carved by the people of Barrhead. It is a spooky sight when all the jack-o-lanterns are on full display and lit up at night. The evening ends with an even larger light display through the 7:30pm fireworks.
