Dairy Queen has introduced a new format to its Canadian lineup, choosing downtown Halifax as the first place in North America to debut an urban-style concept store.

The location at 1475 South Park Street is built for quick service, longer hours, and mobile-focused ordering, aiming to keep pace with a busy city centre.
The store quietly opened earlier in November, with its official celebration set for December 6. To mark the occasion, the first 100 customers who buy any 10-inch or larger DQ Cake or Blizzard Cake that day will earn one free small Blizzard Treat every week for a year.
Beyond the headline giveaway, several one-day specials will be available during the event. The celebration highlights DQ’s move toward a more compact, convenience-driven format, featuring digital ordering, DQ Rewards integration, delivery options, and extended hours running until 3 a.m.
Grand Opening day specials include:
- $2.99 Peanut Buster Parfait
- $1.99 Cheeseburger
- Buy-one-get-one-free box of DQ Sandwiches or Dilly Bars
DQ Rewards and the DQ App continue to offer ongoing perks such as mobile ordering, exclusive promotions, birthday offers, and points on purchases.
