The festive season is right around the corner and it’s time to begin your shopping; get decorations and of course, gifts for all your loved ones!
Calgary has plenty of local craft markets during the Christmas season, and this year, a new European-themed market is debuting in the city.
The European Christmas Village Market is a family-friendly event and will feature over 80 artisans and food vendors selling Christmas items and other products. You can find beautiful handcrafted imported Christmas decorations, hand-made sweaters, toques, quilts, and slippers.
The market will also feature delicious European baked goods, different flavours of colourful candy, mulled wine and other spirits.
In addition to all the shopping, there will be holiday-themed fun for everyone!
There will be places to gather with friends including an outdoor chalet where you can enjoy live entertainment. The market will also feature live choir performances as well as fiddlers and yodelers spreading Christmas cheer.
Children can join for story time at the children’s story corner, visit Santa’s workshop, meet Santa Claus or watch him go around the village market on his magical sleigh.
Visitors to the market can also enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides and outdoor ice skating. Weather permitting, there will be fireworks on certain days.
European Christmas Village Market is organized by Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre, a non-profit organization serving Bearspaw, Glendale, Cochrane, and NW Calgary.
Tickets are available for purchase online and cost $6.32- $11.62.

What: The European Christmas Village Market will provide you with an amazing, fun-filled family event. You will enjoy shopping from the Edelweiss booth to a variety of vendors each weekend. There will be story time, Santa’s workshop, skating and sleigh rides. Grab your family and friends to enjoy Mulled Wine, Brats & Beer as you take in the entertainment around the fire pits. Everything from dancers, fiddlers & yodelers plus so much more! Fireworks and Santa accompany the festival on certain days.
