Ponoka Stampede is among the five largest rodeos in the world for payouts and the Jace Harty Memorial PBR event is the largest single day bull-riding event in the world, attracting competitors from across Canada, the United States and Australia. Ponoka – 1 hr South of Edmonton.

3. KICK IT UP!
Sandwiched around the Women’s soccer quarter-finals at Commonwealth Stadium, the event is a celebration of play, soccer and dance in Little Italy. Kick It Up! is a day-long event designed to bring Edmontonians together through family-friendly activities, World Cup soccer, and a DJ led street dance in the evening.
4. Highland gathering
Edmonton’s oldest and largest Scottish festival featuring Alberta’s largest highland dance competition, Piping and drumming competition, Heavy Events (caber toss, hammer throw, etc.), Vendors’ fair of Celtic wares, Sheepdog demonstrations, Knights of the Northern Realm, Scottish country dancing, Scottish food — Beer tent, Children’s games. 5. The Great Flood of 1915
The history of Edmonton is deeply intertwined with that of the North Saskatchewan River. Join us at John Walter Museum as we celebrate one hundred years since that fateful day in June 1915.
