Trivia: Do you know the reasons why Edmonton was chosen as the Capital, even though Calgary was more populated and was more economically well off, and Banff had geographical advantage that it could be fortified in case of a war?

In addition to the fact that Edmonton is the geographical centre of Alberta, the deciding factor that made Edmonton the Capital, in the heated competition for the honour of Alberta’s Capital was that Edmonton elected Liberals [ Frank Oliver and Peter Talbot], while Calgary elected a conservative in 1904.
