5. Words in the Park

The Writers Foundation of Strathcona County invites you to be a part of Words in the Park as we present our 8th year of this amazing literary event. heck out the bright canopies for children’s stories in an informal setting throughout the day. 7. Haunted Pumpkin Festival

There are over 50 family friendly activities to enjoy at the farm. Weekends at the Pumpkin Patch promises a season of huge family fun, and nowhere are the good times more evident than at all the events taking place at this magical family farm. 8. Total Lunar Eclipse

On Sunday September 27 (07:07 PM – 10:27 PM) the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, resulting in a Total Lunar Eclipse. During the “total” phase, the Moon will appear a deep shade of red.

Special presentation Sunday September 27, 2015 | 4:00 p.m. in the Margaret Zeilder Star Theatre at TWOSE, called Glorious Eclipses, presented by Frank Florian, Director, Planetarium and Space Sciences. This planetarium show explores the science of eclipses with some discussions of past, present and future eclipses. Science Centre admission is required for this show.

The next total lunar eclipse visible from Edmonton will take place on January 31, 2018 during late evening and predawn hours.

We will set out at sunset to explore the south and west shores Astotin Lake and maybe catch a glimpse of a moose, elk or bison silhouette and to listen for the cry of a loon or a distance hoot of an owl. We then will leisurely paddle back by the light of the moon and its reflection on the water.
