8. Total Lunar Eclipse

On Sunday September 27 (07:07 PM – 10:27 PM) the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, resulting in a Total Lunar Eclipse. During the “total” phase, the Moon will appear a deep shade of red.

Special presentation Sunday September 27, 2015 | 4:00 p.m. in the Margaret Zeilder Star Theatre at TWOSE, called Glorious Eclipses, presented by Frank Florian, Director, Planetarium and Space Sciences. This planetarium show explores the science of eclipses with some discussions of past, present and future eclipses. Science Centre admission is required for this show.

The next total lunar eclipse visible from Edmonton will take place on January 31, 2018 during late evening and predawn hours.
