Join us for a jazz interpretation of The Great Canadian Songbook. Amber Epp transforms songs that you love from classic Canadian artists like Leonard Cohen, The Guess Who, and Joni Mitchell while infusing the set with tunes by contemporary artists like Tegan and Sara and Feist. The furthest thing from a cover band, Epp and company want to preserve the original spirit of the work while presenting it with a new energy. Professional and non-professional floral designers will interpret 15th to 21st-century works from the WAG collection, modeled after long-running Art in Bloom events at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.Details

7. Indigo Arrows: Block Printing Workshop

Join designer Destiny Seymour of Indigo Arrows for a half-day block printing workshop inspired by the Manitoba Museum’s Indigenous archaeology collections. Go behind-the-scenes to discover traditional patterns and designs from Manitoba’s original artisans, and create block prints for tote bags and art cards. Participants will explore the archaeology collections both in the galleries and behind-the-scenes, and will learn how to design and create their own lino-cut block. Each participant will come away with two custom tote bags and several art cards, and will be able to take away their block for future printing. All materials are provided and are included in the cost.Details
