4. Winnipeg Railway Museum

5. The Manitoba Museum

6. Le Musee de St. Boniface Museum
What to do: Housed in the oldest building in Winnipeg, the Le Musee de St. Boniface Museum is a great place to know more about Western Canada’s French-Canadian and Métis heritage. Among the 30000 artifacts are Proulx loom, Moïse Richard table and armchair, toys and home made statuettes, and beautiful beadworks, paintings, sculptures, and drawings. The museum has a section dedicated to Louis Riel where you can learn all about his life and death, a period room illustrating traditional crafts and daily life among French-Canadian families at the start of the 20th century. 7. Winnipeg Art Gallery
What to do: Winnipeg Art Gallery is a beautifull gallery with ever-changing permanent and travelling exhibits. 8. Seven Oaks House Museum
What to do: Built in 1851, the Seven Oaks House Museum was the home of John Inskter, a farmer, free trader and merchant in the Red River settlement. One of the oldest surviving residences in Manitoba, the log buildings give a picture of life at Red River during the 1800’s. The house and its furnishings recapture the style when John Inskter and his family lived displaying amazing old-world woodwork, a root cellar, bison horn furniture. John Inkster’s original store and post office are also open for viewing.

9. Fort Garry Horse Museum and Archives
What to do: Located on the upper floor of the McGregor Armoury in Winnipeg, the building and the grounds gives an understanding of Canadian military’s contribution. You can see full-size diorama of a First World War horse and rider. Photographs, weapons, medals, uniforms, and many more artefacts and archival materials display the history of the Regiment. On the parade square, you can see the wheeled rocket launcher, demolition vehicle, and dispatch rider’s motorcycle. Outside the building you can see a vintage Sherman tank, a Lynx tracked reconnaissance vehicle.
