1. Festival of Fools

 This 7 day free family festival features jugglers, clowns, acrobats, swinging trapeze and circus workshops and tons of hilarious shows! In addition to funding support from The Forks and the Winnipeg Arts Council, the WICF solicits donations at the event to both present the best in family entertainment and to keep the festival affordable for everyone! 2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

This faithful rendition of the classic fairy tale is told with only three performers: featuring Snow White, the wicked Queen, and a “storyteller” who becomes the Magic Mirror, the Huntsman, and the Prince, among others. Details

3. Baobab

African music blends with puppetry, drums, song and captivating shadow theatre in this stunning West African legend. Baobab exuberantly celebrates the joy of passing down traditions from one generation to the next. Ages 4-10. Details

4. Friday Fun Night

Come and dress up as your favourite superhero and team up with Melodious Prime to save the WSO, and conductor Julian Pellicano, from the diabolical schemes of Kaos and Konfuzed, the evil, Boyz of Noise! Details

The greatest oratorio since Handel’s Messiah, Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah is an early Romantic masterpiece. An outstanding cast of Manitoba soloists plus chorus recount the story of the Biblical prophet through beautiful hymns, grand choruses and vivid sound pictures. Details

2. NU SOUNDS: Collection Get

Eliot Britton and Grace Hrabi have been creating electronic music together since 2009. Their contrasting aesthetics and performing styles first converged in Montreal under the band name Collection Get. Their debut album Save. As… is a celebration of contrast and technological colour, infusing Grace’s human elegance into Eliot’s intricate and funky compositional language. The resulting project delivers a unique show and listening experience, offering a fresh perspective on two of Winnipeg’s musical highlights, jazz and electronic music. Details

5. How to Disappear Completely

Award-winning lighting designer and storyteller Itai Erdal draws on a life lived between his birthplace, Jerusalem, and home in Vancouver. Itai returned to Israel in 2000, after his mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. A film student at the time, Itai packed up his gear, and put full focus on his mom. In a starkly simple yet deeply profound work, Erdal invites us to witness the story of the circumstances surrounding his mother’s passing. Details

6. Outside Joke & Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir

Have you ever wanted to see a group of witty folk songstresses in house dresses sing original folk jams about drunk driving, American presidents, or massacred, tap-dancing nuns? Of COURSE you have! The Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir is a multi-instrumental, comic folk choir that will collaborate with Outside Joke for a crazy cocktail of folk music and improv. In the first half of the show, Outside Joke will use the Fu Fus’ original music as inspiration for improv. The second half will feature Outside Joke’s signature musical with the sassy songstresses joining as backup accompaniment. Details

1. Basic Filmmaking Workshop

The Basic Filmmaking Workshop is a series of workshops held over a 8 week period during evenings (Tuesday and Thursday) and some weekends, and provides an intensive introduction to independent filmmaking. All steps and processes are covered from creative conception to the final cut – including the basics of screenwriting, directing, camera operation, lighting, sound and film editing. During the course, the participants will be exposed to the process of shooting and editing a short film and short video. Details
