5. How to Disappear Completely
Award-winning lighting designer and storyteller Itai Erdal draws on a life lived between his birthplace, Jerusalem, and home in Vancouver. Itai returned to Israel in 2000, after his mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. A film student at the time, Itai packed up his gear, and put full focus on his mom. In a starkly simple yet deeply profound work, Erdal invites us to witness the story of the circumstances surrounding his mother’s passing. Details
6. Outside Joke & Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir
Have you ever wanted to see a group of witty folk songstresses in house dresses sing original folk jams about drunk driving, American presidents, or massacred, tap-dancing nuns? Of COURSE you have! The Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir is a multi-instrumental, comic folk choir that will collaborate with Outside Joke for a crazy cocktail of folk music and improv. In the first half of the show, Outside Joke will use the Fu Fus’ original music as inspiration for improv. The second half will feature Outside Joke’s signature musical with the sassy songstresses joining as backup accompaniment. Details

The Basic Filmmaking Workshop is a series of workshops held over a 8 week period during evenings (Tuesday and Thursday) and some weekends, and provides an intensive introduction to independent filmmaking. All steps and processes are covered from creative conception to the final cut – including the basics of screenwriting, directing, camera operation, lighting, sound and film editing. During the course, the participants will be exposed to the process of shooting and editing a short film and short video. Details
