Sylvan Lake Ice Dragon Boat Festival

Gather your rowdiest bunch of teammates for this winter rowing event on ice! Race against other teams to take the 2026 Championship title at this unique winter sporting event. The first event of its kind in Western Canada!

Practices take place on Saturday. On Sunday, teams will compete in the third annual Sylvan Lake Ice Dragon Boat Festival.

All teams will race three times on a 200-meter racecourse. This includes two heats and one final. The fastest of the two heat times will be used to place teams into the finals.

Enjoy cozy horse and wagon rides along Festival Street on Saturday, plus the vibrant energy of Chinese Lion and Dragon Dancers. On Sunday, try hands-on ice carving with Lil Chippers or watch skilled artisans create icy masterpieces. The weekend wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show over the ice, celebrating race winners and a memorable winter festival.

Winter Sips & Sweets: Warm up with a cozy, self-guided experience featuring specialty desserts, cocktails, mocktails, and warm drinks from participating businesses!
