Step back in time and embrace the enchanting world of knights, ladies, Vikings, and wizards at the Fergus Medieval Faire!

Fergus Medieval Faire
Mark your calendars for July 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and head down to downtown Fergus for a day of free medieval fun and merriment that will transport you to a bygone era.
Downtown Fergus magically transforms into a bustling Medieval Village. The day begins at 11:00 a.m. with the Opening Ceremony, featuring the arrival of the King and Queen, a royal procession, and the official proclamation to commence the day’s events.
Performances continue throughout the day, including falconry displays by Blades of Glory, a dragon-themed storytelling segment titled Gassyendietha, and demonstrations from the Academy of Medieval Martial Arts and the Society for Creative Anachronism. Musical interludes provide breaks between acts.
Templin Gardens will host a Viking camp with authentic displays of early medieval life, including traditional crafts, period board games, and weapons displays. The Royal Court will feature live fight demonstrations, showcasing Eastern-style Viking combat with weapons demonstrations, one-on-one duels, bridge fights, and more!
In the afternoon, the Sigtryggring Vikings of Ontario lead two staged battles, followed by the Halflings’ Challenge. The festivities conclude at 4:30 p.m. with the Closing Ceremony and a final round of the costume contest, hosted by Lady Jane.
Beyond the Royal Court, the Faire features multiple themed attractions. Visitors can engage with hands-on weaponry demos, fairy crafting zones, scavenger hunts, and blacksmithing displays. The festival also includes educational science programming for children, costume play areas, and encounters with roaming performers.
Food and drink are available across the grounds, including a medieval pig feast at the Red Door Restaurant, themed dishes from local eateries, and a designated picnic area with food trucks. A free water station, provided by volunteers from the Monastery of Fergus-On-The-River, will also be available.
