The charm of Elora, a village part of Township of Centre Wellington, stems from a few different town features. Running through this region of southwestern Ontario is the Grand River, marked by tall, imposing rock walls and gorges.

Elora is situated near some of the deepest parts of the Grand Riverbanks. The town is to the east of the Elora Gorge, sitting at the tops of the banks and centred around the old Mill.
The Elora Mill, along with dozens more pieces of architecture in town, serves as another source for this locale’s picturesque qualities. The Mill sits overlooking the Grand River as the rock walls begin to rise higher above the water. From here, the downtown and streets of Elora follow the Grand River. Many of the beautiful historic buildings around Elora serve as public businesses today: The Mill is a hotel and spa, while many others are also accommodations of some sort.
Elora makes for a great trip (whether on a romantic escape or a family getaway), and it is an easy day trip from most of GTA (90 minutes from Toronto) and southwestern Ontario.
