FROSTival, Atlantic Canada’s largest winter celebration, returns to the Fredericton Capital Region from January 22 to February 8, 2026, offering an array of indoor and outdoor activities.

This festival transforms the region into a lively hub of winter activities, perfect for a family or friends’ getaway. Key attractions include the Shivering Songs music festival, where top artists perform in the city’s quaint, historic venues, offering a feast of songwriting and storytelling.
For food enthusiasts, Dine Around Freddy promises delightful culinary experiences with special three-course meals at over 33 local restaurants for only $45 each, showcasing unique Maritime flavours.
Outdoor activities are central to this year’s festival. Crabbe Mountain will host discounted Sunday afternoon skiing, a half-price night on January 31, and Never Ever Days on February 7 and 8, offering lift tickets, lessons, and rentals for $29.95. The Torque Motorsports King of the Mountain snowmobile races take place January 25 at 6 p.m.
Skating events are scheduled at Officers’ Square, including DJ skates and the Fredericton Society of St Andrew Kilted Skate on January 24. Mactaquac’s 900-metre Forest Skate opens January 31.

The festival features internationally recognized and Canadian artists spanning folk, indie, orchestral, and experimental music, including Dan Mangan, Amy Millan, Mo Kenney, Wild Pink, Niko Stratis, and dozens of emerging performers throughout the multi-day program. - LICHEN League’s Under the Stars – A Night Hike (Jan 23): This FROSTival night walk invites participants to explore nocturnal nature at Killarney Lake, listening and calling for owls while observing the winter sky. - Dumfries Maples Breakfasts (Sat & Sun): Visitors to Dumfries Maples can enjoy pancake breakfasts in a cedar log cookhouse, and walking or snowshoeing trails. - Walking in a Winter Wonderland (Jan 24 & 25): Join Dr. Jim Goltz for an interpretive tour of the Fredericton Botanic Garden. The approximately 90-minute walk includes plant and wildlife identification, followed by a hot chocolate social at the Resource Centre located at 10 Cameron Court. - Winter Bar and Trail adventures in Grand Lake (Various Dates): Experience winter magic with Tiny Trails at Mountain Bike Minto!
