Sea to Sky Gondola, which is located about a 45-minute drive from Vancouver along the Sea to Sky Corridor in Squamish, is planning a plethora of events and activities for the whole family.
If you have never been to Sea to Sky Gondola, the attraction features 40 accessible eight-passenger gondolas that transport visitors to the summit 885 metres above sea level, where they can enjoy a walk along the Sky Pilot suspension bridge, cantilevered viewing platforms, access to hiking/walking trails, and a 9,000 sq. ft. west coast-inspired Summit Lodge.

The annual Christmas celebrations, Spirit of the Season, will begin on December 3rd.
As per the press release, the joyful activities will begin the moment you reach the attraction: soar high in the sky from the mountain’s base to the summit for festive activities and decorations while immersing yourselves in endless views of the wintry landscape.
Once at the summit, you can enjoy a decorated forest walk, visits with Santa, and outdoor storytime to holiday lunches with family and friends. In addition to holiday-themed activities, you can participate in sunset/daytime snowshoe tours in the pristine setting, thrilling tubing rides at the park, nordic and backcountry skiing in the alpine forest, and winter walks on the suspension bridge or the many available trails.
Here are the highlights of the Christmas & holiday season:
Sea to Sky Gondola
- Community Christmas Tree Lighting: On November 29, gather to illuminate the Gondola’s towering Christmas tree, marking the official start of the season.
- Taste of The Summit – Dine 885 metres above Howe Sound and enjoy a specially created seasonal menu of locally inspired cuisine, along with a hot drink or two – all while taking in the amazing winter scenery of snow-covered mountains and the coastal forest on December 4, 11, 18.
- Photos with Santa: From November 29 to December 8 (select dates), families can meet Santa at the Summit Lodge for professional photos by Tara O’Grady Photography. Little ones can also visit Santa’s Workshop for holiday crafts, gingerbread decorating, wooden ornaments, and photo frames, making it a creative escape for children of all ages.
- Guided Headlamp Hikes and Summit Forest Walks: Those seeking outdoor magic can join Guided Headlamp Hikes and Summit Forest Walks, where snowshoe trails and serene forest paths reveal the quiet beauty of the mountain at night. Tours run December 20–23 and 26–31, with snowshoe rentals and warm drinks included.
- Cross the bridge and hike: Enjoy the crisp winter air and delight in the winter scenery from the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, Summit Lodge Viewing Deck and Spirit Trail.
- Meet the Maker Market: Handcrafted treasures take center stage at the Meet the Maker Market, running on Saturdays—November 29, December 6, and 13. The market showcases emerging artisans and small businesses, offering distinctive, locally made gifts. Admission is free with a lift ticket or membership, turning the summit into a festive marketplace in the clouds.
- Snowtubing: Go for the thrilling experience of sliding and spinning down the snow-laden slope (Opening day: TBA).
