Events Description

Visitors of all ages are invited to create magical memories and a new holiday tradition this year with the Sea to Sky Gondola’s Spirit of the Season. Soar high in the sky (just like Santa himself) from the base of the mountain to the summit for festive activities and decorations, endless views of the wintry landscape, along with hot drinks and a warm bite to eat at the cozy lodge.

Through the month of December, guests can enjoy everything from a decorated forest walk, visits with Santa, and outdoor storytime to holiday lunches with family and friends. Adding to the experience and offered all season long (December – February, 2023) are sunset/daytime snowshoe tours in the pristine setting, thrilling tubing rides at the park, nordic and backcountry skiing in the alpine forest, along with winter walks on the suspension bridge or the many available trails.

  • Decorated Forest Walk – Step into nature with a holiday twist on the popular family-friendly, Spirit Trail. Decked out with Scandinavian style decorations and festive touches along the way, the trail leads back to the Summit Lodge, where visitors can enjoy a warm fire, hot beverage or two, and sample delicious holiday treats.
  • Festive Lunches – Make the holidays extra special this season with a festive lunch at the Sea to Sky Gondola’s cozy Summit Lodge. Dine 885 metres above Howe Sound and enjoy a specially created seasonal menu of locally inspired cuisine, along with a hot drink or two – all while taking in the amazing winter scenery of snow-covered mountains and the coastal forest.
  • Outdoor Storytime in Nature – Gather the kids for a unique outdoor storytime experience amongst nature’s winter wonderland at the summit. For a few select dates in December, families can enjoy a new and magical holiday story every week. Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate caps off this fun seasonal event.
  • Photos with Santa – Experience a unique winter scene, right out of the North Pole, for photos with Santa this year. Set in the cozy Summit Lodge, amongst a natural wintry setting, kids of all ages will have an opportunity to meet Santa, share their wish list, and take home a photo to remember.
  • Visit with Santa Claus – Just days before he sets off on his world-wide tour, Santa makes a rare appearance on the Sea to Sky Gondola summit. Children of all ages can drop by the Backyard Plaza to wish Santa well before he heads out on his journey and big night ahead.
  • Sunset Snowshoe Tour – Experience the peaceful beauty of the forest at twilight with a guided sunset snowshoe tour. Visitors can watch the sun fade into the horizon and see the stars light up the sky as they trek the alpine at this special time of day. Headlamps are provided.
