Get ready to celebrate Filipino culture with colourful performances and delightful eats this weekend.

FUN Philippines Toronto
Fun Philippines Toronto Street Festival is returning for a third year after a successful debut last summer. The festival is organized by the Philippine Legacy and Cultural Alliance (PLACA), a not-for-profit group.
The festival will showcase the Asian country’s culture through various food and artisans set up at Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto.
In addition, there will be plenty of free cultural programs, games and street activations.
This highly anticipated event will feature an incredible lineup of performances.
The festival starts on July 26 with rock band Amplifye and pop band AC Project.
The celebration continues on July 27 with a parade, cultural performances, and dances, featuring artists like Mary Kristine Garcia and BGYO. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and lasts around 45 minutes with a route around the Harbourfront Centre grounds.
On July 28, enjoy fitness fun, hula dances, young Filipino talents, and stars Zsa Zsa Padilla and Ogie Alcasid.
For those who want to learn how to make a traditional bag, the Bayong, Maricel Salvador of AKI’s Bayong from Potrero, Malabon, will showcase her basket weaving skills, transforming traditional bayongs from buri leaves to recycled plastic. Workshops run on July 27-28, offering a blend of cultural heritage and sustainable innovation in bag-making.
Visitors can also enjoy free movies indoors at 2 p.m. in Studio Theatre: Unbreakable on Saturday, and Love You to the Stars and Back on Sunday.
When it comes to satisfying your taste buds, Fun Philippines has you covered. From delectable pork BBQ, lechon, kare-kare, sisig, dinakdakan, and kilawin, there’s a wide array of food to enjoy.
