Acclaimed author Ann McDougall will present a reading from her newly published book, A Ghost in the Room: Supernatural Adventures in Historic Houses, followed by an immersive exploration of historic techniques used in attempts to communicate with the dead (both sincere and duplicitous). Step inside the historic house as we uncover the Austin family’s customs surrounding death and mourning, as well as the popularity of Spiritualism from mid 19th through the early 20th century.
