Giant Emoji Installation will Pop Up at Various Locations in Toronto

imageAs part of the Age of You exhibition, the Museum of Contemporary Art in partnership with Leo Burnett brings The Thinking Emoji to the streets of Toronto with thought- provoking messaging that is relevant to the issues raised by our modern society.

Age of You is a timely exhibition about how the self has become more extreme, and what it means to be an individual today. It is curated by Shumon Basar, Douglas Coupland and Hans Ulrich Obrist, with graphic design by Daly & Lyon and over 70 visual contributors from the worlds of art, design, filmmaking, photography, performance and electronic music. Age of You has been commissioned and produced by MOCA Toronto.

“The Thinking Emoji is meant to give visitors pause about their place in the digital world. As MOCA promotes
exceptional artistic thinking and provides a space for discourse and creativity, we are thrilled to inspire conversation in the streets of Toronto.”

Not only is the Thinking Emoji calling attention to how our lives are transformed into data, but it is also sparking investigation of the effect of our digital age on our identities and the impact of digital technology at the MOCA Age of You exhibition.
