There are many ways to peruse the offerings of the Miramichi River – it’s a popular spot for fishing, too – so if you’re a casual canoe- or kayak-based fisherman, then the Miramichi River is a great spot to fish.
But this isn’t about fishing; it’s about enjoying a lazy glide down the Miramichi River, and Gallan’s Tubing will help you get started.
Gallan’s Tubing in Miramichi offers tourists and locals alike the opportunity to experience the Miramichi River in all of its glory.
There are two options for tubing with Gallan’s Tubing:
The Tidal Run: This meander takes you down the Miramichi River at a slightly faster pace. This run lasts between 1 and 2 hours, and the last launch of the day is at 5 p.m. The tidal run relies on the tides for distance and speed, and takes a gentler approach to floating the Miramichi River. This is intended for younger adults and children.
The Rapids Run: This is the most popular of the Miramichi River’s tubing runs and lasts between 3 and 4 hours, with the final launch at 2 p.m. to allow Gallan’s to cease launching at 5 p.m. The Rapids Run features a series of rapids interspersed along the route, which can be a fun challenge to stay in your tube! Though not particularly difficult, they can be avoided if you’re not comfortable; simply paddle away with your arms to avoid getting caught up.
Once you reach the end of your trip, you can get back to the place you started your trip as Gallan’s provides complimentary shuttle service between the endpoint of your tubing adventure and the parking lot where you began. There are also on-site bathrooms and free on-site parking. You also don’t need to make a reservation, as they operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
While Gallan’s Tubing does not provide life jackets, they strongly recommend that you wear one while in the tube and bring sunblock. Your safety and the safety of others on the river are your responsibility.
Gallan’s Tubing is now open and runs throughout the entire summer season (weather-dependent). Launches begin at 10 a.m. local time, with the final launch of the day at 5 p.m. For “Rapids Run” customers, the last launch is at 2 p.m.
