Drive-in concerts and movies are becoming the norm in Canada as the pandemic stretches on.
Last summer, soldout performances including movies were screened at The Big Art Drive-In on the grounds of Telus Spark.
To add to Calgary’s performance venues, Grey Eagle Resort & Casino on the Tsuut’ina Nation is building a new drive-in space in the southwest parking lot with three large LED screens and parking space for 206 vehicles.
The guest staying in the resort’s west-facing hotel rooms will also be able to attend the event.
The drive-in is scheduled to open on May 1. Rental rates vary from $5,000 to $7,000.
Operated and managed by The Event Group and Supervision ltd., the Grey Eagle Drive-In space is also available for events like graduations, dance recitals, and awards ceremonies.
