Celebrate community and camaraderie; Hamilton Day returns, promising a weekend filled with joy and collective enthusiasm.
Organized by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, this is an annual event held on the first Saturday in November. This initiative has a rich history dating back to 1931 when it was first introduced during the Great Depression to uplift community spirits and stimulate the local economy. Over 90 years later, following the challenges brought on by the pandemic, Hamilton Day has been revitalized and transformed into an annual celebration due to overwhelming support from the community.
The event serves as a platform for local and regional visitors to show their support for a wide range of Hamilton establishments, including retailers, cafes, restaurants, bars, theatres, independent artists, musicians, florists, fitness studios, personal service providers, entertainment venues, and gaming stores, among others.
Hamilton Days will span the entire first weekend of November, kicking off with a concert by Dwayne Gretzky on November 2nd and a market on the evening of Friday, November 3rd.
On Saturday, November 4th, the city will come alive as Hamiltonians and tourists take to the streets and the digital realm to engage in a full day of activities, programming, and on-street entertainment. This dynamic experience is made possible through the participation of over 1000 local restaurants and retailers, eight artisan and farmers markets, 11 BIA partners, and key tourism collaborators.
The weekend’s festivities will culminate on Sunday, November 5th, with two marathons organized in partnership with the Hamilton Road2Hope Marathon. There will be free and ticketed activities, with most activities offered for free. Do check the event’s Schedule Page to determine which activities are free and which require tickets.
The city-wide celebration will encompass Hamilton‘s main downtown core and neighbouring municipalities, including Stoney Creek, Binbrook, Dundas, Ancaster, and Waterdown.
