Back for its eleventh year, the excitement and fun of the Toronto International Film Festival spill from the theatres onto Festival Street this weekend, from September 10 to 13, 2026.

TIFF is bringing Festival Street back to King Street West from September 10 to 13, turning the stretch between Peter Street and University Avenue into a free public hub for film, art, music, food and family activities. You can wander through installations, catch DJs, meet community groups and even spot some four-legged guests from Toronto Animal Services. Organizers expect close to half a million visitors, making this one of the liveliest places to experience the festival without buying a ticket.
What to See & Do at TIFF Street Festival
You do not need a ticket in advance. You can move between art, music, sports, food and film without leaving the street. AFC Toronto players and Toronto Tempo activities add a sporty twist, while the Festival Street Art Market brings together 10 arts and community organizations.
Three DJ stages will run across the event, and Cinema Park continues nightly at David Pecaut Square.
Per the organizers, Festival Street as a “pedestrian-friendly celebration” built around culture, conversation and easy drop-in experiences for all ages throughout the four-day celebration downtown.
Watch a movie outdoors
Cinema Park returns to David Pecaut Square with free screenings every night at 10 p.m., rain or shine. The lineup starts with Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights on September 10, followed by The F Word, Madagascar and Now You See Me during Festival Street.
Screenings continue through September 19 with titles including Strangers on a Train, Freaky Friday, Hoosiers, Spy Kids, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and The Great Muppet Caper. All films will have open captions.
Step inside the art
You can interact with several large-scale installations. Naomi Jaye’s SLOW is a life-size participatory zoetrope inspired by her father, his Parkinson diagnosis and his interest in amateur photography.
On September 11 at 1 p.m., Jaye and Dancing with Parkinson’s will host a dance class and artist talk.
You will also find Disco Speakers by Matt Jones, which reacts to sound with LED visuals, and Tree of Cinema by Yury Goncharov and Alina Tacmelova, a steel-and-film-strip installation exploring cinema and collective memory.
Catch DJs, soccer and basketball
Three DJ stages will bring music to the street, with performers including Nino Brown, Young Teesh, Classic Roots, Cozmic Cat, DJ Shysofly and Paul Chin.
Sports fans can meet players from AFC Toronto, while the Toronto Tempo will have spin-the-wheel and pop-a-shot activities with prizes and giveaways.
Browse art and Canadian film
The Festival Street Art Market brings together 10 community and arts organizations, including Inside Out, Reel Asian, imagineNATIVE, Reel Canada, Workman Arts and Regent Park Film Festival, with LIFT joining this year.
You can also visit the Little Free Cinema, which focuses on Canadian experimental filmmakers, including Philip Hoffman, Lindsay McIntyre, Martin Heath and Christina Dovolis.
Eat, explore and meet a few four-legged stars
The Festival Street Food Market returns for its third year, with food trucks and hospitality partners including new additions Eataly, Fox on John and GRETA. There is also a dedicated patio if you want to sit down between activities.
Outside the Royal Alexandra Theatre, Ferrero Rocher will offer samples of its bars, movie-genre-inspired flavours and a daily surprise reveal. Select contest winners can also access a rooftop area overlooking the red carpet.
You can sample Lavazza Cold Brew or Qualità Oro Ground Coffee at its Festival Village Experience, while Nongshim will offer Shin Ramyun tastings, a buzzer challenge and DIY Shin Cup customization. Nutella Peanut is also making its Canadian debut at TIFF, with samples, a Glambot red-carpet photo experience and a chance to win prizes.
Toronto Animal Services will round things out with dogs looking for forever homes, meet-and-greets, giveaways and plenty of “snuggles.”

TTC Route Diversions:504A/304 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will divert from September 10, 4 a.m. to September 14, 5 a.m., and daily, September 14 and 15, 2026, 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
504B King streetcars will operate from King Street East, south on Church Street, west on Wellington Street East/West, north on York Street and east on King Street West, to regular route.
Stops not served: King Street West between Spadina and University avenues.
