This visit is part of the Red Arrows’ five-week tour during the Royal Canadian Air Force’s centennial celebrations and coincides with the team’s 60th Diamond Season.
On August 28 at 18:00 EST, the Red Arrows will perform a flypast over the Horseshoe Falls. During this display, the jets will execute a precision flight from north to south above the falls.
Spectators are encouraged to watch this aerial maneuver and can expect live commentary from the commanding officers. An interactive pop-up tent will be set up at the Niagara Visitor Centre, where attendees can engage with the Red Arrows team and learn more about their operations.
A historic addition to the aerial display will be one of the world’s only two remaining operational Lancaster planes, originating from Hamilton. These planes were notably used by the RAF during WWII, with thousands of Canadian airmen and ground crew participating in RCAF and RAF Lancaster squadrons based in the UK throughout the conflict.
Spectators at the Niagara Visitor Centre can engage directly with the team through an interactive pop-up featuring activities from The GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign. Commanding officers will also provide real-time updates on the ground.
After their Niagara Falls performance, the Red Arrows will participate in the Canadian International Air Show in Toronto. The event will take place from August 31 to September 2, marking their third showing at this venue. The team is set to perform a new routine that reintroduces the iconic Diamond Nine formation.
Following the Toronto Air Show, the Red Arrows will participate in Airshow London from September 13-15 and the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa from September 6-8.
